Renegade Materials Corporation is proud to announce that they are one of six Ohio companies and organizations selected to join a new aerospace research and development consortium established by Airbus. Through a five-year agreement with Airbus, the National Composites Center (NCC) will manage the consortium aimed at strengthening Ohio’s aerospace industry and boosting economic development throughout the state. Ohio companies will receive technical and financial support for developing and demonstrating new technologies to produce high-tech aircraft components for Airbus’ next generation aircraft fleet.
The initial effort will be to develop and commercialize new technologies in nano-materials and carbon fibers for Airbus. Renegade Materials Corporation brings a wealth of experience in the manufacture of nano-modified prepregs and films and is pleased to be able to bring this expertise to the consortium.
Senator Sherrod Brown was instrumental in getting Airbus to Ohio to learn about the technologies available in the state. Airbus has already committed $1 million and can invest additional funds over the five-year period of the agreement.
Other local area companies slated to be involved in the consortium are Angstron Materials in Dayton, the University of Dayton Research Institute and NanoSperse, which is located at the NCC.
